Recycled Flower Sculpture Maindee Festival ‘Petal Power’ 2020, Newport
This sculpture is based on the ‘Harlem’ Oriental Poppy, which is a perennial flower with large, beautifully colourful petals. I was inspired to create this poppy due to its bright, crepe papery petals and intricate detail to introduce families and visitors to new types of flowers as part of the community trail at Maindee Festival.
The sculpture is made from found, repurposed and recycled materials.

As part of the Together Stronger partnership between Sparc Valleys Kids and Wales Millennium Centre, I worked alongside the Flight Wings drama group to design and make eight bespoke character costumes.
Each costume was exhibited as part of an immersive audio installation which invited audiences to step into a circle of characters and listen to the sound recordings of a performance piece devised by the group.
